Portree the capital of Skye is some 20 miles by road and offers the benefits of a small town plus a Tourist Information Centre, the Aros Heritage Centre and many other facilities. Portree is a small working fishing port from where you can take a boat trip around the nearby islands of Raasay and Rhona or do some Sea Fishing.

Here you are in the perfect location to make the most of what Skye has to offer.   The whole area is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise.   Access to the Cuillin Mountains is just 10 minutes drive away and for those who prefer less energetic exercise there are numerous forestry and coastal walks nearby.   The pier at Portnalong is just a short walk away for fishing and a smaller jetty gives access for anyone wishing to do canoeing, kayaking or sailing.  

Wildlife is in abundance from seals and otters to golden and white tailed sea  eagles.   The village of Carbost is a 5 minute drive away where you will find a well stocked shop providing general provisions, petrol/diesel  and gas sales;  post  office (with cash machine), pub and medical centre.    Talisker Distillery is also located in Carbost and offers daily tours at their visitor centre.
