By Road – From Glasgow

Take the A82 via Loch Lomond, through Glen Coe and Fort William to Invergarry, turning left onto the A87 to Kyle of Lochalsh.

For those who use SAT NAV the postcode for Shelduck House is IV47 8SL

Take care if following the SAT NAV without checking the route. Some will attempt to take you to Skye via Mallaig which necessitates a ferry trip. The ferry must be booked and is not 24 hr.

By Road – From Edinburgh

Follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge. Then take the M90/A9. Continue through Perth following signs for Inverness. At Dalwhinnie turn left onto the A889/A86 to Spean Bridge, turn right onto A82 to Invergarry, turning left onto A87 to Kyle of Lochalsh.

From the Skye Bridge

Follow the A87 to Sligachan turning left on the A863 for Dunvegan. Follow this road for 5 miles then turn left on to the B8009 towards Carbost. Continue on this road past the Talisker Distillery and follow the road to Portnalong. Shelduck House is accessed along the last roadway (private drive) to your left before the pier. It is approximately a mile from the village pub on the left side.

By Sea

Ferry crossing from Mallaig to Armadale. www.calmac.co.uk

By Rail

From Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh or Fort William to Mallaig – then ferry across to Armadale. www.scotrail.co.uk

The nearest airport is at Dalcross, Inverness, approximately 140 miles away. Car rental can be arranged from the airport. www.invernessairport.co.uk
